Welcome to the College of Pharmacy
The College of Pharmacy (PHRM) at the University of Duhok is a governmental academic institution committed to excellence in pharmaceutical education, scientific research, and community service. The college aims to prepare competent pharmacists equipped with the scientific knowledge, clinical skills, and ethical values required to contribute effectively to patient care, public health, and the pharmaceutical sector.
Established in 2009 with one department, the Department of Pharmacology, the College of Pharmacy was founded to meet the growing healthcare needs of Duhok Province and the wider region. Since then, the college has expanded significantly and now includes five academic departments, offering both undergraduate and postgraduate programs in different fields of pharmacy.
The college is recognized in Kurdistan and Iraq for its role in preparing qualified pharmacy graduates and supporting advanced study in pharmaceutical sciences. Its academic programs include the Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy, as well as master’s and doctoral programs in specialized areas of pharmacy.
Departments
The College of Pharmacy (PHRM) consists of five academic departments:
- Basic Sciences
- Pharmaceutics
- Pharmacology
- Clinical Pharmacy
- Medicinal Chemistry
Facilities and Academic Capacity
The college provides a supportive learning environment through seven well-equipped laboratories and seven teaching halls. It is supported by 38 academic staff members who contribute to teaching, research, student supervision, and community service.
The college has also contributed to postgraduate education, with 11 PhD degrees and 35 MSc degrees awarded in different pharmacy specializations. In addition, the college has served more than 1,084 undergraduate students and alumni since its establishment.
MISSION
The mission of the College of Pharmacy is to prepare competent, ethical, and professional pharmacists through high-quality education, practical training, and scientific research.
The college is committed to strengthening the role of pharmacists as vital members of the healthcare system. It seeks to provide innovative pharmacy education and scholarly training across different pharmaceutical disciplines, supporting effective medication practice, pharmacy-based services, and community healthcare needs

To be recognized as a leading college of pharmacy in Kurdistan, Iraq, and the wider region, distinguished by excellence in pharmaceutical education, scientific research, professional practice, and community service.
The College of Pharmacy also seeks to be an effective academic partner in the healthcare sector by preparing competent pharmacists with the scientific knowledge, professional skills, and ethical values required to serve the community in healthcare institutions, pharmaceutical industries, and related fields

Message of the Dean
Welcome to the College of Pharmacy at the University of Duhok.
Our college is a community where knowledge, professional responsibility, and service come together to prepare future pharmacists for an important role in healthcare and society. We believe that pharmacy education is not only about acquiring scientific knowledge, but also about developing ethical values, critical thinking, communication skills, and a strong commitment to patient care.
At the College of Pharmacy, every aspect of our academic work is directed toward improving health and serving the community. Through our educational programs, practical training, and research activities, we aim to prepare competent graduates who are able to contribute effectively to healthcare institutions, pharmaceutical services, research, and public health.
During the current academic year, the college has taken important steps toward institutional development, including curriculum updates, support for scientific research, and encouragement of innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration. We remain committed to creating an inclusive academic environment that supports creativity, integrity, lifelong learning, and professional growth.
