Chemical safety is a very important issue that should be considered in the chemistry laboratory to keep students safe during the lab and not create hazards for others.

According to these considered issues, the workshop was organized at the College of Pharmacy by asst prof. Dr. Nidhal Meen Sher Mohammed with collaboration of Colonel Mr. Bewar Abdull Aziz Hamid from Civil Defense Director of Duhok.

The objectives of this workshop are to identify chemical hazards and the classification of chemical hazards in addition to safety precautions that should be considered while working

in a chemistry lab and during earthquakes. The first aid instructions are also included in this workshop. At the end of the workshop, practical firefighting activity using different fire extinguishers was explained by Mr. Bewar and practically applied by 1st year students of the college of pharmacy.
